Feminist Book Club

Join us at the Astoria Bookshop for our Feminist Mosaic Reading Group. Each month we’ll read a book and examine it through the lens of modern feminism. For November we will be discussing Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado. All women and allies, teens and up, are welcome to join this group.

The Astoria Bookshop feminist reading group takes an intersectional approach to examining books that give us an insight into the lives of women all over the world, across classes, castes, race, and gender and sexual identity. Political discussion is part of this approach, so come ready to dig into diverse perspectives and ideas. Our goal is to work together to gain a greater understanding of our own roles in the social order and how we can work toward a better future for all.
