Nestor J. Dutan’s Canelazo

My recipe definitely changes depending on what I have on hand. If I am in Ecuador the ingredients are more natural and fresh. Usually, I make a jarra (pitcher) size. It all changes, though. You need to taste and play with the ingredients.

Ingredients

  • About 4 to 5 cups of water to boil)
  • Maracuya (passion fruit)
  • Canela (2 cinnamon sticks)
  • Menta (half a handful of fresh mint leaves)
  • Azucar (about 1 cup sugar, sweetener or brown sugar)
  • Zhumir (½ cup aguardiente)
